Yipee! Long flight ahead! 14 HOURS of NOTHING but TV, games and plane pre-packaged food (Oh - and don't forget the 'annoy-the-heck-out-of-your-parents' part when you need them to move so you can go to the toilet every 10 minutes). I am at Auckland Airport, waiting for our flight to depart. It leaves at 16:00, just 2 hours from now. Our flight is 14:23 hours long, flying directly over the Pacific. Dinner, and breakfast will be served onboard (apparently). The funny thing is, the screens showing departure times only show gate location, distance and time to departure when it is less than 1 hour. If t is more than one hour, it says this: [Destination Flight # Time Gate Walk Time] {HOUSTON NZ28 Relax -- -- ] WEIRD! Anyways, Dad is in the bookstore, with Aaron. Austin is checking out some noise-cancelling headphones, and I am sitting on a red bench, writing this. That's all for now. Bye! Conor

Yay! 14 hour flight DONE! I got about 1 hour of sleep, and watched the Peanuts movie for the first time ever. The weather was perfect - clear skies and no wind - and the flight time was shortened from 14:23 to 12:52 hours. When we arrived, we checked in to our hotel, Courtyard Marriot, and went up to our room. Our room number is 306, and unpacked. We then went to the Houston Zoo, and saw some meerkats, toads, frogs, snakes and chimps. It was AMAZING! We are now in our hotel, and have just called Mummy and Caila on FaceTime, back in NZ. |
